I would say that the AADHAAR is like a knife, the more we use it, the more sharper (effective) it becomes!
The new logo of the unique identification number in India is named as, ‘AADHAAR’, which means foundation, or support. Thus, the government of India is performing exceedingly well in rendering its support to its people. This project was mainly designed for the poor people in the year 2006, but with many additions and enhancements, it is been set to establish the identification number to every resident of the country. This multipurpose identification number project is the best example to illustrate that India is racing very rapidly towards the goal of making into the category called as, ‘Developed Nation’, because, in many developed nations like, USA, UK, etc… the identification number plays a significant role in every residents life. The number in these countries is called as the Social Security Number and it is considered to be one of the major identification featuresof any resident in the country. Even getting a car loan is affected by the number and credit history, which is in turn associated with the number. Likewise, a similar number is set to establish in India in the next 4 to 5 years, which is remarkably a huge step in advancing the country to next level.
The biometrics system of the AADHAAR is considered to be one of the significant systems of the entire project, as the identification number is issued based on the biometrics and demographic details of the residents in India. The biometric solution comprises of two phases in which the first phase involve taking the biometrics details of the residents’ eyes (iris) and the second phase involves, registering the biometric details of thefingerprints of the residents. Thus, the biometric details are considered most significant and the details are then fed into the system to get stored in the database. Hence, in order to accomplish the biometric solution, anAutomated Biometric Identification Subsystem (ABIS) is been used, right from the enrollment server in order to avoid the duplication procedures. This system would also been used in the authentication server forverification. Thus, the de-duplication procedure is implemented throughout the biometric system. The biometric system bears a separate database storing all the biometric details, which could be referred then and there to ensure de-duplication procedures.
- The UID number is been saved in a central database, which is in turn managed by the Unique Identification Authority of India. Hence, the possibilities of fraudulent activities could be reduced to a great level.
- With AADHAAR, any citizen could access their account from anywhere in the country, because the number would be linked to each citizen’s account number in the respective banks. The AADHAAR would provide a greatest facility, regarding financial services across the country.
- A person, who is assigned with the number by the respective states in the country, would in turn be associated with the rights for employment, food, education and other respective rights.
- The AADHAAR works exceedingly well in terms of the government related benefits and features. With this number, the government benefits would reach the respective citizens without any further delays.
